Part of The Lochmore Legacy: a Scottish castle through the ages! Rory Lochmore had expected to wage battle, to claim land and finally secure his standing within his clan… Instead he won a wife. New Releases: April 12222
I would strongly recommend reading the books in the order they were published as you can then get a sense of the storyline, the secrets, the mystery and the rugged landscape. The books in the series are :. Secrets of a Highland Warrior is my first introduction to the work of Nicole Locke and her writing style drew me into a tale full of secrets, deceit, danger and love in the Scottish hills in the year of The landscape of the highlands was strategically owned by different clans and the Chief of Clans were very protective of their land.
However, when the King had granted some of the adjoining land to the Lochmore estate it was to cause a change of events for the future for many. As this adjoining land was currently owned by the McCleish clan and they were not to give up the land too easy. Rory, son of the Chief of the Lochmore clan, was on his way to claim this new land.

With his best friend Paiden and a few of his clansmen, he anticipated a fight would be forthcoming. Ailsa was the healer for the McCleish clan and was currently treating Hamish, Chief of the McCleish clan, who was gravely ill. Ailsa had been trained well by her predecessor and had been privy to secrets, which at first Ailsa thought were folklore between clans but when she meets Rory and notices certain traits about him Ailsa begins to wonder whether the words she heard in secret were actually true.
With age old secrets and bitter feuds between clansmen slowly revealing themselves Nicole Locke has given us an historical mystery that is soon filled with a chemistry that sparks between opposing clans folk. I have completely fallen in love with The Lochmore Legacy series with each story unearthing new facts surrounding mysteries of long ago with a clash of clans and a clash of hearts within each instalment.
The epilogue rounds off the series beautifully which left me feeling quite emotional and bereft. Hats off to all four authors for a great concept for a historical romance series. Convinced hidden books must be better, Nicole greedily read them. It was only natural she should start writing them but now not so secretly. The paperback is available from all good book retailers including Waterstones, WHSmith, amazon and direct from the Mills and Boon website. A spy on a mission…Until he meets this heiress! She wants an honourable, sensible sort — not a self-assured scoundrel like her new neighbour, Lord Gray.
Virginia Heath has become one of my favourite Regency romance authors. She has a winning style with her novels and that is of creating characters that are humble, have a vulnerability about them, strong willed women, ruggedly handsome men but most of all she creates the perfect duo act. Lord Gray had fled his home and his shattered heart ten years ago, he was betrayed by his family and found solace gambling and then working for the Merchant Navy, this then led to working for the King and country as one of a secret group of men protecting the country. His mission was to gain more information about Viscount Gislingham who resided in a country house in Sussex.
Intelligence had been received that Gislingham was involved in the smuggling. His first thought was that Thea would be a great opening to gain access to her Uncle. But this instant reaction to Thea shook him, she was like a vision with striking auburn locks that were wild and difficult to tame, which he later found out was very similar to the young lady herself.
Gray had left matters of the heart with his shattered pieces ten years ago so to feel his heart thumping that little bit more when he first meets Thea he is unsure of his next move however, he does realise he has a job to do and nothing must get in his way.
However, the author Virginia Heath, has snook in an adorable character in this story. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending.
Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. If no response is received within 7 days then I reserve the right to select an alternative winner. The stories are standalone novels but are linked by the setting of a castle in the Scottish Highlands and by a feud between two clans that has spanned centuries.
An Impetuous Abduction
Her suggestions have been rebuked so many times she feels dispirited. With her temper still seething Flora goes off for a wander in the castle to work off her steam but during this time she makes a startling discover that frightens her to her core. But now the castle is in bad disrepair and her father has virtually sold her off to a stranger and she is set to marry a wealthy gentleman. Lachlan McNeill is a ruggedly handsome man that has worked hard the last few years earning his wealth. I loved this story set in the Scottish Highlands, Janice Preston described the setting perfectly and you could feel a sense of ruggedness of the land and the remoteness to the nearby city of Glasgow.
Flora had two different personalities in the story, she was so vibrant as a young girl but by the time she was due to wed her father had knocked the spirit out of her.
Once wed she was quite shy and reserved but her spirit from long ago was still there slowly simmering in the background.
